In 2010, I reconnected with an old friend who made a life of scamming and impersonating random people to acquire money, fancy cars and designer clothes. Unfortunately, I was intrigued by his crafty lifestyle and decided to join forces with him, only to land myself in prison; God needed me to learn a lesson. My time “away” was humbling and traumatic, but I also had fun. I met people from all walks of life; developing relationships with murderers, rapists and thieves. I had never dreamed that I would find myself in this setting, sharing a metal picnic table on the yard with hardened criminals. They became my lovers and friends. I had not considered writing a book about my life, but was moved to do so by those around me intrigued by my story; I now find myself an author. I wrote this book in a pure state of transparency and vulnerability. I divulge events throughout my life that contributed to personal failures and enabled poor decision making, as well as my journey to better understand who I am and become the person I was meant to be. So glad I didn’t hesitate to purchase a copy of this book. It’s literally like watching a comedy-drama with a slew of flashbacks to grab the reading to the plot twist. I have laughed, cried and reminisced about the story of my friend, especially certain parts that I was privy to be let in on. I am proud of the redemption story that has come to pass. Read this and you will not be disappointed. If you know his voice- channel that and enjoy the ride. Very delighted to have read "The Hunt for McFly"!!! I am amazed at the brilliance and candidness of this must read book! This is a great message to our youth and those seeking the illusion that magazines and reality TV blind us with. So many are affected by the social media and America's obsession with Wealth, Fame and Social Status!! It is a façade when you drive fancy cars, wear designer labels and live an "imposter" life when in reality you really can't afford it. The other caveat is where does all this glamor and showy lifestyle lead? Most time to an "empty" existence. No matter what your background is you must acknowledge your responsibility when you accept your maturity and try your best to become the best possible human being you are.
